Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brogan Palmer and Sawyer Morgan Lead Highland to Victory

Highland had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 61-44 victory over the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers on Friday.

Leading Highland to victory were Sawyer Morgan and Brogan Palmer. Morgan went 7 of 13 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Palmer dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Morgan is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 16 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Bingley, who posted four points in addition to ten assists and six boards.

Despite the loss, Vail Mountain still got an impressive performance from Charlie Vidal, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Iverson, who had six points.

Highland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-30 win against Vail Christian on the 7th. As for Vail Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 55-39 victory against Cedaredge on the 7th.
