Soccer Game Preview: Buffalo Grove vs. Prospect

The Buffalo Grove Bison will head out on the road to face off against the Prospect Knights at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Buffalo Grove's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Monday, neither Buffalo Grove nor Elk Grove could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, while the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Lake Zurich who was credited with the victory on Saturday. The Bears got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Prospect's one. While losing is never fun, Prospect can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Lake Zurich are ranked 16th).

Prospect's goal came courtesy of Courtney Bradbury, who's now up to seven this season.

Prospect has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5-1 record this season. Buffalo Grove's draw gives them a new season record of 4-5-2.

Buffalo Grove took their win against Prospect in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bison since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
