Softball Recap: Tappan Zee Find Success

Tappan Zee had won three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 6-2 to make it four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Somers Tuskers, sneaking past 3-1. The Dutchmen haven't had any issues with the Tuskers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

As for Somers, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs.

For Somers' part, Emily Boyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Julia Peanamanda was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.

Tappan Zee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Somers, they will host Walter Panas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
