Football Recap: Rock Island Takes a Loss

Rock Island lost against Dunlap back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rocks took a blow against the Eagles, falling 50-3. While losing is never fun, the Rocks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Eagles are ranked 134th).

Rock Island's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dunlap, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Rock Island and Dunlap will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rocks are set to square off against their familiar foe Geneseo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dunlap will face off against rival Pekin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
