Volleyball Recap: Stamford Starts Season with Win at Home

Stamford took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Black Knights also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Stamford walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 20-25, 25-18.

MD Arfat Chowdhury was the offensive standout of the contest as he had 12 digs and one assist.

Stamford was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kolbe-Cathedral only served three aces.

Looking ahead, Stamford will square off against Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Black Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, they will challenge Bridgeport Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
