Basketball Game Preview: Goliad Tigers vs. Poth Pirates

The Goliad Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Poth Pirates at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Goliad sitting on four straight wins and Poth on nine.

Last Friday, Goliad beat Nixon-Smiley 49-37.

Meanwhile, Poth made easy work of Karnes City on Friday and carried off a 50-29 victory. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Poth has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Goliad, their record is now 14-15.

Goliad came up short against Poth in their previous meeting on January 10th, falling 33-26. Can Goliad avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
