Softball Recap: North Point Takes a Loss

If North Point was riding high fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Thomas Stone on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Calvert Cavaliers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Alyssa Blaney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North Point saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianna Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

North Point's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Calvert, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.
