Football Recap: Mounds Takes a Loss

Mounds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Okemah Panthers on the road by a 22-7 margin. The Golden Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Mounds' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Okemah, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Mounds will challenge Gore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Golden Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Okemah, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
