Basketball Recap: Carroll County Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Cody Reece and Bryce Smoot

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Carroll County can now relate to. They lost to the Spotswood Trailblazers on the road by a 71-52 margin on Tuesday. The Cavaliers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Carroll County's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Smoot and Cody Reece. Smoot shot 53% from the field to rack up 20 points and three steals, while Reece posted 15 points. The matchup was Smoot's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Richardson, who earned nine points.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 23-3. As for Spotswood, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-3.

Carroll County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spotswood, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-52 victory against Northside on the 7th.
