The Philip Scotties lost to the Stanley County Buffalos back in January, but the Philip Scotties didn't allow the Stanley County Buffalos the same satisfaction on Thursday. Philip secured a 44-40 W over Stanley County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Philip.
Philip got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Fayth Martin out in front who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josie Jones, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Philip's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0. As for Stanley County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philip will face off against Faith at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Faith is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Stanley County, they will head out on the road to face off against Jones County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
