Baseball Recap: Williston Finds Playoff Glory Versus Marathon

Williston extended their postseason success on Friday against Marathon. They came out on top against the Dolphins by a score of 9-6.

Harlan Cole was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Williston is undefeated when Cole posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Will Conquest was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Williston pushed their record up to 17-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marathon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-9-1.

Williston will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dolphins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
