Football Recap: Brighton Gets the Win

Brighton's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 38-31 victory over the Weber Warriors. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Bengals were the better team in the second half.

Brighton found their leader in sophomore Judah Naweli, who rushed for 235 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Staton Gutierrez, who rushed for 115 yards on only 11 carries.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DYSON PARKER, who rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and also picked up 70 receiving yards. PARKER's longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. CARTER PAYNE was another key signal caller, throwing for 291 yards and a pair of TDs.

The win got Brighton back to even at 1-1. As for Weber, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will welcome Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Weber, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Roy at 7:00 p.m.
