Football Recap: Brighton Runs Past Weber

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Davis, Brighton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Weber Warriors by a score of 38-31. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Bengals were the better team in the second half.

Judah Naweli had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 235 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Those 235 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Staton Gutierrez also helped out as he racked up 115 rushing yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brighton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 351 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weber only rushed for 115 rushing yards.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DYSON PARKER, who rushed for 101 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also picked up 70 receiving yards. PARKER's longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. CARTER PAYNE was another key player, throwing for 291 yards and a pair of TDs.

The victory got Brighton back to even at 1-1. As for Weber, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brighton will host Ridgeline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Weber, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
