Basketball Recap: Lake Zurich Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Lake Zurich won the last time they faced Barrington and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lake Zurich Bears came out on top against the Barrington Fillies/Broncos by a score of 40-31. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Fillies/Broncos are ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lake Zurich pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Barrington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Zurich will host Zion-Benton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barrington has already played their next match (against Conant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
