Volleyball Recap: Manitowoc Lincoln Takes a Loss

Manitowoc Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the McFarland Spartans. The Ships were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Abby Weidmayer paced Manitowoc Lincoln's offense, picking up ten kills. Weidmayer got some help from Cora Foster and her 15 assists. Mollie Junk controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Manitowoc Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for McFarland, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-9 record.

Manitowoc Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Franklin on the 20th. As for McFarland, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Neenah on the 20th.
