Recap: Clarke Prep Gators vs. Morgan Academy Senators
This season hasn't been kind to the Clarke Prep Gators, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They were beaten by Morgan Academy 74-28 on Monday. Clarke Prep has not had much luck with Morgan Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Morgan Academy found their leader in underclassman CJ Christopher Williams, who scored 38 points along with eight assists and six steals. That's the first time this season that Williams posted eight or more assists. Barron Frazer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks.
Clarke Prep bumped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Morgan Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Clarke Prep will head out on the road to square off against Bessemer Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bessemer Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Morgan Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Monroe Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
