Soccer Recap: Taylor Takes a Loss

Taylor managed to keep up with New Smyrna Beach until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Taylor Wildcats came up short against the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Barracudas are ranked 32nd).

Taylor's goal came courtesy of Emilio Garcia, who's now up to 18 this season.

The loss snapped Taylor's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7-2 record. As for New Smyrna Beach, they pushed their record up to 11-1-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Taylor will square off against Atlantic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Smyrna Beach, they will take on Flagler Palm Coast at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Flagler Palm Coast will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something New Smyrna Beach surely won't give up without a fight.
