Basketball Recap: Decatur Christian Takes a Loss

Decatur Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the DeLand-Weldon Eagles and fell 49-18. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 43-29 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Decatur Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for DeLand-Weldon, their win ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-14.

Decatur Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arthur-Okaw Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arthur-Okaw Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season. As for DeLand-Weldon, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
