Baseball Recap: Wesley Chapel Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Wesley Chapel extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-1. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mitchell Mustangs, sneaking past 5-3. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Wesley Chapel's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sean Roche, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Roche has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Mills Carrillo was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3. They haven't had much luck with Wesley Chapel recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

On Mitchell's side, they got a good showing from Cade Vermillion, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Looking ahead, Wesley Chapel will be playing at home against South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 11.8 runs per game this season. As for Mitchell, they will head out to face off against Tarpon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.8, the Spongers 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
