Mount Airy Christian Academy waltzed into their game Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 60-48 win over Calvary Christian. This was payback for Mount Airy Christian Academy, who suffered a 54-50 loss the last time these two teams met.
Joey Stanton was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brady Shinabery, who scored 11 points.
Mount Airy Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Calvary Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Mount Airy Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Veritas Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Veritas Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 218th in New Jersey, while Mount Airy Christian Academy is ranked 51st in Maryland). As for Calvary Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Amboy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Amboy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
