Soccer Game Preview: Verrado vs. Independence

The Verrado Vipers will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Independence Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Verrado will be strutting in after a win while Independence will be coming in after a loss.

Verrado is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past Desert Ridge 3-0 last Wednesday. The score was close at the half, but the Vipers pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Independence was not quite Browne's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

Verrado's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4-2. As for Independence, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2-2.
