Basketball Recap: La Lumiere Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Montverde Academy

La Lumiere is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Montverde Academy. The La Lumiere Lakers took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montverde Academy Eagles. The Lakers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Montverde Academy was led to victory by Hudson Greer and CJ Ingram. Greer made all 6 shots he took for 19 points and five boards, while Ingram on his way to 18 points. That's the most points Ingram has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trent Sisley, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

La Lumiere's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Montverde Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

La Lumiere does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montverde Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-62 loss against IMG Academy on the 22nd.
