Softball Recap: Midland Trail Comes Up Short

James Monroe hit Midland Trail with a five-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots fell 10-7 to the Mavericks. Surprisingly, this marked the Patriots' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Presley Walker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jessi Mooney, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Midland Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for James Monroe, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-12.

Midland Trail wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 20-0 win against Summers County on the 7th. As for James Monroe, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Liberty on the 7th.
