Basketball Recap: Quintin Hankins and Cason Walker Secure Win for Dallas Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Gorman, Dallas Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-51 win over the Shelton Chargers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-37 back in January.

Leading Dallas Christian to victory were Cason Walker and Quintin Hankins. Walker went 8 of 19 on his way to 28 points and five rebounds, while Hankins dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave Hankins a new career-high in boards. Dylan Belt was another key player, putting up nine points.

Dallas Christian pushed their record up to 12-17 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Shelton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

Dallas Christian will head out to square off against All Saints Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. All Saints Episcopal has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Shelton, they will face off against McKinney Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McKinney Christian Academy has 15 straight wins, Shelton has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
