Volleyball Recap: Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers vs. Fountain Valley Danes

Cripple Creek-Victor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Fountain Valley Danes, falling 3-0. The Pioneers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Danes from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Cripple Creek-Victor had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-19.

Madison Mead paced Cripple Creek-Victor's offense, picking up five kills. Mead got some help from Savannah Mead and her seven assists. Lilly Linneweh controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Cripple Creek-Victor's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Fountain Valley, they moved to 9-8 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Looking ahead, Cripple Creek-Victor will welcome Hanover at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fountain Valley, they will head out to take on Thomas MacLaren School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
