De La Salle waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They put the hurt on the Dougherty Valley Wildcats with a sharp 14-0 win. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Cooper Barnes looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Spangler was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Gray, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

De La Salle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

De La Salle's record is now 21-3. As for Dougherty Valley, they dropped their record down to 2-21 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home.

Looking ahead, De La Salle will welcome Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 1.9, the Falcons 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Dougherty Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
