Basketball Game Preview: Okeechobee Brahmans vs. Central Cobras

The Okeechobee Brahmans will square off against the Central Cobras at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Okeechobee is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Treasure Coast just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 61-34 loss at the hands of the Titans. The matchup marked the Brahmans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Central strolled past Jensen Beach with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 74-60. Given the Cobras' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Falcons are ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.8 points per game. As for Okeechobee, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.

Okeechobee took a serious blow against Central when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 71-37. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Okeechobee was down 40-19.
