After losing to JSerra Catholic the last time they met, Aliso Niguel decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Aliso Niguel Wolverines had just enough and edged out the JSerra Catholic Lions 3-2. The game was the first time the Wolverines have beaten the Lions on their field since March 3, 2020.

Charlotte Giler looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rylie Long, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

The victory made it two in a row for Aliso Niguel and bumps their season record up to 7-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for JSerra Catholic, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aliso Niguel will challenge Esperanza at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for JSerra Catholic, they will square off against El Modena at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (El Modena 1.7, JSerra Catholic 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
