Softball Recap: Tri Titans vs. Cowan Blackhawks
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tri had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They never let the Cowan Blackhawks onto the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for Tri, who have now won eight matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Ashton Richey, who gave up just one hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Cowan off the board.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rylan Matthews, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Williams, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Tri, bringing their record for this year to 13-12. As for Cowan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-21.
Tri is on the road again on Saturday to play Fremont at 1:00 p.m. Tri is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. Cowan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
