Bulloch Academy waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Stratford Academy Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 58-43. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Eagles are ranked 363rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Bulloch Academy to victory were Akiryon Watkins and JB Roach. Watkins dropped a double-double with 27 points and 14 boards, while Roach shot 53% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Watkins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Camden Shingler, who posted four points.

Bulloch Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Stratford Academy lost, don't look at Landon Gates. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. John Henry Causey also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Bulloch Academy's record is now 6-1. As for Stratford Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Bulloch Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-38 victory against John Milledge Academy on the 9th. As for Stratford Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-34 defeat against Deerfield-Windsor on the 10th.
