Baseball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central blew Bald Eagle Area out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Bald Eagle Area got their revenge. The Dragons fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Troy McNichol was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Blake Dick also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Central has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Bald Eagle Area, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Central will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Carroll at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bald Eagle Area, they will face off against Mount Union at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
