Basketball Recap: Mullins Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mullins, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the East Clarendon Wolverines by a score of 59-50 on Thursday. For the Auctioneers, this counts as revenge for the 53-38 victory the Wolverines walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2020.

East Clarendon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cherish Cochran, who posted 25 points and three steals. That was a full 50% of East Clarendon's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kierstin Woods, who put up 13 points and five rebounds.

Mullins moved to 5-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for East Clarendon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Mullins will challenge Kingstree at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mullins has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for East Clarendon, they will square off against Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
