Football Preview: Ravenwood Raptors vs. Franklin Admirals
Ravenwood is 8-2 against Franklin since September of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. After each having a week off, both will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. Ravenwood is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Franklin's offense is going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Ravenwood hadn't allowed a single point the last three times they've hit the field. Ravenwood took their game on the road two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 45-0 win over Summit. The result was nothing new for the Raptors, who have now won five contests by 33 points or more so far this season.
Maverick Chance had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 38 yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 53 yards.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Franklin finally came back down to earth last Friday. They fell 17-9 to Brentwood. The Admirals haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Franklin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Luke Thompson.
Ravenwood's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Franklin, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.
