Basketball Game Preview: Jeffersonville Red Devils vs. Bedford North Lawrence Stars

The Jeffersonville Red Devils will challenge the Bedford North Lawrence Stars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jeffersonville will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Jeffersonville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Scottsburg, posting an 82-49 win. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Warriors are ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jeffersonville relied on the efforts of Michael Cooper, who went 10-for-16 en route to 24 points, and Tre Singleton, who shot 64% from the field on his way to 18 points and seven boards. Singleton's big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was PJ Douglas, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 14 points and five rebounds.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Bedford North Lawrence and Jasper had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Bedford North Lawrence fell 60-52 to Jasper on Thursday. The contest was a 26-26 toss-up at halftime, but the Stars couldn't quite close it out.

Bedford North Lawrence's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Jeffersonville, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
