Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 33rd straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Lumberton Panthers 69-36. The Wildcats lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 46-38 score last time.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Lumberton, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will welcome Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem is facing Sacred Heart at the right time seeing as Sacred Heart is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lumberton, they will be playing at home against Resurrection Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lumberton is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Resurrection Catholic a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change.
