Soccer Game Preview: Pearce vs. Berkner

The Pearce Mustangs will challenge the Berkner Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pearce has three straight victories, Berkner has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Pearce is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Nimitz get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Tuesday. Considering Pearce have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Berkner managed to keep up with Dallas Jesuit until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Rams came up short against the Rangers, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Berkner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Dallas Jesuit are ranked tenth).

Berkner now has a losing record of 5-6-2. As for Pearce, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-2.

Pearce suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Berkner when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
