Baseball Game Preview: Goodhue Wildcats vs. Kasson-Mantorville Komets

Goodhue hasn't had much luck against Kasson-Mantorville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wildcats will square off against the Komets at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Goodhue faced off against Mabel-Canton on Friday. The Wildcats never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Kasson-Mantorville had just enough and edged out Northfield 3-2 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Drew Fredrickson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Goodhue pushed their record up to 3-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Kasson-Mantorville, their record now sits at 3-5.

Goodhue suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Kasson-Mantorville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
