Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tavian Urban and Hadley Hollenbeck Lead Edgemont to Victory

Edgemont posted their biggest victory since January 7th on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Hemingford Bobcats with a sharp 63-39 win. Given the Moguls' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 83rd in South Dakota, while the Bobcats are ranked 264th in Nebraska), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edgemont was led to victory by Hadley Hollenbeck and Tavian Urban. Hollenbeck dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds, while Urban almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 12 boards, and nine assists. With that strong performance, Hollenbeck is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Allie Brunson was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Edgemont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Edgemont's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Hemingford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Edgemont will host Newell at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hemingford, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Hemingford Bobcats duke it out with the Morrill Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
