Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cortlyn Williamson and Haley Dutton Lead Locust Fork to Victory

There's no place like home for Locust Fork, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They took down the Hanceville Bulldogs 49-35 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 56-44 defeat.

Leading Locust Fork to victory were Haley Dutton and Cortlyn Williamson. Dutton went 6 of 15 en route to 20 points, while Williamson posted ten points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. Williamson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lynnleigh Tawbush, who put up four points and six assists.

The victory snapped Locust Fork's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record. As for Hanceville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Locust Fork didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-34 defeat against Jasper on the 16th. As for Hanceville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-27 win against Oak Grove on the 16th.
