Softball Recap: Granville Comes Up Short

Granville lost against Salem back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Golden Horde fell just short of the Generals by a score of 5-4. The Golden Horde have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Granville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Esmerelda Velez, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Ella Olsen was another, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Granville's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Salem, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Granville will be playing at home against Argyle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Scots' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Golden Horde's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Salem, they will venture away from home to face off against Berne-Knox-Westerlo at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
