Basketball Game Preview: Lake View Wildcats vs. Butler Lynx

Two dominant guards in Jada Marrero and Xyanna Walton are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lake View Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Butler Lynx at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lake View is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took down Juarez 42-26. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Lake View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Journee Fulton, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xochilt Rosales, who scored ten points.

Bishop McNamara typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Butler proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 62-57 victory over the Fightin' Irish.

Butler's win came from a few key players Lake View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Walton, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cyra Conwell, who earned 19 points.

Butler is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points per game. As for Lake View, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
