Basketball Game Preview: Lake Forest Academy Caxys vs. Latin Romans

The Lake Forest Academy Caxys will challenge the Latin Romans at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Forest Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Lake Forest Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Normal West on Monday. Lake Forest Academy came out on top against Normal West by a score of 55-48. Given the Caxys' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Wildcats are ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Latin beat Timothy Christian 69-63 on Saturday.

Lake Forest Academy has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Latin, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9.

Everything came up roses for Lake Forest Academy against Latin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 79-32 victory. Will Lake Forest Academy repeat their success, or does Latin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
