North Vermillion hasn't had much luck against Riverton Parke recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
North Vermillion is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over Attica on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Willow Campbell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Campbell was even better at the plate, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with seven stolen bases and four runs. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, North Vermillion got a massive performance out of Cami Phelps, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Phelps a new career-high. Ava Jumps was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
North Vermillion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Riverton Parke entered their tilt with Southmont on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Mounties get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by ten runs or more this season.
Jayleigh Inman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Inman was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ashlyn Brenton was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Haylee Mathas, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Riverton Parke's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Vermillion, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North Vermillion hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Riverton Parke struggles in that department as they've averaged .421. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
