Basketball Game Preview: Service Cougars vs. West Anchorage Eagles

Service and West Anchorage are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Service Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the West Anchorage Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Service and four for West Anchorage.

Service is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Dimond, who was ranked tenth at the time (Service was ranked sixth). Service fell to Dimond 62-58.

Meanwhile, West Anchorage ended up a good deal behind Bartlett on Friday and lost 64-47.

Service's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for West Anchorage, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Service came out on top in a nail-biter against West Anchorage in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 55-53. Will Service repeat their success, or does West Anchorage have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
