Basketball Recap: Palmyra's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Palmyra won the last time they faced Macon and things went their way on Friday too. The Palmyra Panthers enjoyed a cozy 69-53 win over the Macon Tigers. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Tigers are ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palmyra is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Macon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14.

When Palmyra and Macon next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Palmyra will take on South Shelby and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Similarly, Macon will try to stop Centralia's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
