Basketball Recap: Stephens County Indians vs. Commerce Tigers
Stephens County lost against Commerce two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Stephens County Indians took a hard 67-48 fall against the Commerce Tigers.
Commerce was led to victory by Maki Mitchell and Ty Sorrells. Mitchell went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points, while Sorrells went 6 for 13 en route to 14 points. Those six threes gave Mitchell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Parks, who earned eight points.
Stephens County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Commerce, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Stephens County will host Habersham Central at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Commerce, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Commerce Tigers duke it out with the Franklin County Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
