Softball Game Preview: Caldwell Chiefs vs. Mount St. Dominic Academy Lions

Caldwell is 0-6 against Mount St. Dominic Academy since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Chiefs will take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m.

Caldwell lost 7-1 to Livingston on Saturday. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mount St. Dominic Academy entered their tilt with West Essex on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 14-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Mount St. Dominic Academy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Caldwell, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1.

Caldwell suffered a grim 13-4 defeat to Mount St. Dominic Academy in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
