Basketball Game Preview: Booker T. Washington Mighty Bookers vs. Maury Commodores

The Booker T. Washington Mighty Bookers will head out to challenge the Maury Commodores at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Booker T. Washington is looking for their season's first victory.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-4, which was the final score in Booker T. Washington's tilt against Granby on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mighty Bookers have suffered against the Comets since December 7, 2018.

Meanwhile, Maury won against Norcom on Friday with 53 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Maury enjoyed a cozy 53-39 win over Woodbridge. Given the Commodores' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Vikings are ranked 182nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Maury and bumps their season record up to 11-2. As for Booker T. Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Booker T. Washington was taken down by Maury 94-4 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Booker T. Washington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
