Hobbs dropped down to 11-11 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Roswell Coyotes by a score of 13-11. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Coyotes since Friday.

Cope Greebon stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Trystan Montez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

As for Roswell, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-11. The game was the first time they have beaten Hobbs on their field since April 13, 2023.

On Roswell's side, Joaquin Bolanos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bolanos also tossed a walk, which is notable because Roswell is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-10 otherwise. Bolanos was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-5. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elias Lujan, who fired off three home runs, seven RBI, and one double while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davian Dominguez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Hobbs wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 20-13 win against Clovis on the 21st. As for Roswell, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-1 loss against Carlsbad on the 21st.
