Football Recap: Greenbrier Drops Highest Score of Season Against Evans

Greenbrier scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 45-35 to the Evans Knights. The Wolfpack haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Evans got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Scott out in front who picked up 85 receiving yards, and also rushed for 32 yards and one score. Another passer making a difference was Tripp Furgeison, who threw for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes.

Greenbrier's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Evans, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Greenbrier will be playing in front of their home fans against Glynn Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Evans, they will face off against Bradwell Institute at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
